Hi.
After some thought I think I'll abandon the 555 for the frame oscillator and separate scan drive and try a TDA1170 which I have. It will run on voltages above 10v so should be happy enough on 12v. I'll proceed with this over the next few days.
Line then will be tackled, as yet I'm not sure of what way to go so I'm actually open to suggestions. Again very little drive is required.
