In theory you should be able to instal your Icom drivers in the Windows VM but if they use the hardware in unusual ways then they may not virtualise correctly. I never managed to get Quick Basic 4.5 to work in an XP VM and that wasn't even a driver problem. It won't run in W7 at all. The problem was that CTRL-Break can't be intercepted by Virtualbox and passed to a guest OS. It's an essential key combination for QB4.5. The other problem was just plain weird. QB4.5 wouldn't recognise a network drive on the host when opening files. I could copy the files to the VM when I need them and copy them back when finished but it's a faff.

When I'm using QB4.5 in active service it's on a W98 PC where it controls the printer ports very nicely. But I'd like to debug the logic of the program on my main PC, even though it's not connected to hardware via an LPT.
