Hi Mike
I am looking into things a little, but have little information on using the rod pentodes as modulators. The only Russian radio circuit I have which appears to use the 1j37b as a mixer appears to use it in a similar manner to which I have tested (signals into seperate grids) although I could be wrong! (see R-326). This is fundamentally how I came to be using the valve in the way I did. I have no examples of it's use in modulators.
I would be very interested if you have examples of use.
Over the past few days I have gone back to looking at audio, with a bit of testing. To fully sort the modulation this needs to be sorted anyway, and I foresee me spending a while on modulators. It will take me a while to get my head around things, but can visualise the beam being deflected away rather than being pinched with variation on one grid only.
