Just restored one of these for a friend's 60th birthday.
Clean example, made in 1957 (his year of birth) - I put in NOS Mullard valves, replaced the wax capacitors, changed the HT selenium rectifier for an 1N4007+560R as HT was low, changed a few resistors, re-aligned it as per the Trader Sheet, cleaned it up etc plus some minor cosmetic repairs.
I use an AMT-3000 pantry transmitter driven from an IQaudIO DAC+/RPi running max2play - server is an Innous mini (Vortexbox) providing all our CDs (about 1000), Internet radio, Spotify, YouTube etc...
...having said that, the radio is pretty good on MW & LW and Radio 4 is there, but little else, so having the option to digitally stream the same content as the rest of the house & workshop is cool...
