There isn't an earth on it, Jeremy, and this is in part because I like 2-pin plugs and I also couldn't really see the need as the only exposed Extraneous Conductive Part is the control panel, a bit cut out of the side of an old microwave. I've put heat-shrink on the back of the main-switch which comes pretty close to double insulation.
As I said in another thread, it was picking up Russian radio early this morning so an earth may bring in other interference. I dare say it SHOULD be earthed but I live alone and know it isn't so will act accordingly.
I had pondered but that bit of flex, which somebody had chopped off their lawn-mower, was the first of suitable length that came to hand. I could well change my mind as it isn't completely finished and I've got plenty of three-core laying around, and some VERY nice three-pin plugs!
Chris: You've seen my circuit diagrams - are you sure the world is ready for another? I'll draw it out in the morning, and probably drive myself mad in the process, as I'll be at home.
