View of the drum with the tab removed. Putting the screw back again is a bit fiddly. I used a bit of tape to block the nearby holes where it could fall and get stuck inside.
Having a waveband changer that allows full service access is definitely a good idea. It allows for manual cleaning of the contacts and easy ohms tests of the coils. By contrast, the East German set I'm working on a allows no easy access (if any) to the waveband contacts.
