Below is a link to the valve data for the EL84, there are two sets of characteristics given, one for pentode connected and one for triode connected, Va and Vg2 are the same in both cases, the only voltage that's changed is Vg1.
Question, does that mean that when it's pentode connected that the screen voltage is obtained from a different supply than the anode, if so why ?
