Hi.
Well the BBC have announced that BBC4 will air the 80th anniversary broadcast on the 2nd of November.
Over the last few weeks I've kept it quiet that I have been working on the 1946 Ekco and bringing it up to scratch.
The set is as close to a pre-war set as I'm ever likely to own, in fact one of the chassis is clearly marked 1939, no doubt some chassis were stockpiled during WW2 and as the first postwar sets were modified versions of their earlier versions I am more than overjoyed to have this particular set.
I have been given special dispensation to bring the set into the house to watch the program, I will of course record the whole evening on my Youview box "just in case".
The next thing of course begs the question. Should I relay the program the 12 yards from my shed on 41.5 & 45Mhz on a micro transmitter for full authenticity or hard wire a coax?
So those that have 405 line sets, what will be used for the broadcast?
