Thanks for replies. In the absence of a manual, I have no idea what valves the sockets are for. It appears that it will test any type for which the data is known. You select filament, anode and screen volts required with the switches on the front. You then set the dial to the correct mutual conductance level, and the meter then shows the condtion. A while ago, I made up my own valveholder panel with B4 B5, B7 Int Oct, Mazda Oct, B7G, B9A, B8A. So I should be able to use that. But Adam is spot on with the flexible 9-lead connection from the valve-holder panel to the main unit. It is in pretty poor condition and there seems to be a short-circuit across the filament leads. If it has not burned out the rectifier, I may have it up-and-running as soon as I have cleared the short.
I have also found a circuit on the internet, but it is not very clear (I don't mean I can't understand it, I mean that the lines are rather too faint for easy studying!)
