Hi Jeffrey,
an example of picture cogging on the screen of the GEC BT310. The problem was caused by the 0.5microfard grid coupling capacitor having gone leaky.
in fact the design of the Pye B16 sync separator is similar to the GEC BT310 and BT1156. The pentode sync separator valve conducts on the negative going sync tips resulting in positive sync pulses being developed across the anode load resistor.
