I've got a good stock of AD149 power transistors, but of course there are much better devices available nowadays to perform the regulation function.
The TT1 employs two 10,000microfarad capacitors connected across the 10 volt supply line. Imagine what the switch-on in rush will be with those capacitors. So for that reason I'm going to return the set to it's original specification and use nine NiCad cells to perform the 10V regulation.
The final stage of the restoration will follow the rule, "only use the tech of those times" which in the case of the TT1 is 1960.
