Geordie. Thanks for the comments, and the link to your TT1 restoration thread, very interesting. I noticed that your set has suffered the dreaded tin whisker problem, the early OC170/171 etc. and AF 114/118 can be "treated" by using the method suggested by Mark Hennessy http://www.markhennessy.co.uk/articles/v....htm#treat I've used a similar method several times myself with good lasting results. For your supply regulator a Thorn portable MTV style regulator that used the AD149 would work well, (choose a bypass resistor to bring the supply up to within a couple of volts of that required on minimum load, the AD149 will then do the rest). Whatever reg you choose, I'd recommend that you preserve the rest of the set with a thyristor supply crowbar and fuse!
