Very good point Terry! I may have misremembered the side the controls were on but they definitely had a cover. And the tube sat against a recessed surround with a plate glass implosion shield. It was the only one of the breed I ever had to repair, and that was only because it had been dropped and the weight of the focus assembly had broken the tube neck . I remembered it so well because it sat in the workshop for three months waiting for a new tube, (being very hard to get by that time), it was only another five years or so before band 1 & 3 TV was shut down. I recall being very impressed with the ease of servicing, and the quality of the picture when it was done. Thanks again to all, it really can only be an early TT1. :cheers:
