Im afraid that this project has been a waste of time and effort. Two days on the IF units have revealed many of the coils and transformers are O/C. Not only on the better looking chassis but on the spare one too.
Virtually every Philips black capcitor was badly leaky and to top it all the blocking osc transformer in the EHT stage has gone open on one winding and that was the one out of the spare! So I'll be removing about 70 odd new components today and salvage other odds and ends and bin the rest.
