Thanks David for the pictures and the links. Already there is a good improvement in the picture, I've since rotated the scan coils, this and the full width and height have made a big difference.
I also removed the 0.1uf visconol EHT cap tonight and I'll do a step by step sequence of the repair of the cap with a modern capacitor.
I'm also removing a couple of tacked on capacitors and will restuff them into the old smoother.
