thanks for that, but C8, 31 and 7 (which was missing) have been replaced, (not by me but the connections checked), that leaves the trimmers C38 and C39. I don't suspect R9. I feel the fault is prior to V1 on the circuit using trader 707.
I do know these trimmers can short to earth though, may have to take them to bits and renew the insulation to be sure.
