I'd be staying with PlusNet, so I think I'm clear of any Virgin Media problems...
For me, it's a choice of paying the same each month (£15) as I presently am, and getting fibre. Of course, there are nominal setup costs with that. Or, paying £10 a month, and having the same ADSL that I'm used to, but with no monthly download limit.
I don't want to leave PlusNet because they have been very good over the years. Also, and equally importantly, my website has been on there since 2000. Last year I migrated it to new host, but the old PlusNet/Force9 webspace is there with a bunch of re-direct pages for the benefit of those who have links to the old location. Last time I tried analysing how many sites have links to the F9 webspace, it was several hundred, astonishingly. That would a *lot* of "please could you update your links" emails to write!
I suppose I could take the easy option and sign up for the ADSL for the time being and do a bit more research over the next few weeks. It's all so complicated
