thank god fixed at last, i had not noticed befor but the magic eye was not moving. so i started work around that part of the circiut
then found r19 470k open circiut replaced that ,magic eye now works and even weak station come in on a short bit of wire, thanks to jamie for the idea of using cheap fm transmiter, conected to an audio gen saved a lot of messig around taking it to and from the amp and the aerial just had the scope across the output

if its made by hand it can be repaired by hand
