Yep...1 day (more than) is wot it said, is that because the disk is in a bad way or the whatever it is that's causing everything to run slow.
Eg: the mouse she is using is about 1 month old, you can click and click and click and zilch happens, but keep at it and eventually an action will result, anyways I decided to try the mouse off my pc on hers (the netbook) it took 10 minutes to load up the driver.
The nearest analogy I can give is that say a 100 Mhz clock has suddenly gone down to 10 Khz clock (or slower), it's happened all of a sudden the other day.
Have been on the MS "fix it" download, it took ages and then said no problem found.
I'll try the dfrag again and let it run but the mains power to the PC will be switched off when I hit the sack, it will auto run on internal battery from then on but not sure how long for, I'll be in the land of ZZZZZ by then so I won't care, I'll see what that brings.
