Hi,
Yesterday disappeared at an alarming rate but not before I moved the Lorch into its new home in the garage; I also visited our local car spares store and garage to enquire about timing belts. I went into the garage servicing bay first and asked if they had any old timing belts they were disposing of that I could buy? I was kindly given free of charge one complete timing belt and a broken belt to experiment with. I then visited the store and the owner said he now only had very limited stock of timing belts because they were now supplied to order but the ones he had I could have at much reduced prices because they had been on his shelves for years gathering dust.
I selected the two longest belts at 24 mm wide which would be perfect regarding width and hopefully could be joined giving one drive belt for the Lorch; both belts only cost £12 including dust so very little will be lost in money if my experiments fail but the interest alone will be worth a great deal more to me. I've already got a couple of ideas to try out on these belts and will post any results.
Next job is to tidy the garage now that I can move around freely with the Lorch out of the way; the picture shows the Union Graduate woodturning lathe; Wilmac band-saw and the Lorch all three now fully restored and ready for work; restoring these three has taken many months hard work mostly in poor working conditions regarding blasting and paint spraying in fact both the Graduate and Wilmac had to be brush painted but I've enjoyed doing the work and now have top class machines to play with.
Kind regards, Col.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
