As said David, so far as I am aware Truro City Council were against it, as for destroying the valley, well that's not possible unless the valley ceases to become a valley, I guess it's the historical use of the valley that will be destroyed, Cornwall Council tends to bend over backwards for Charlie boy (or maybe bend over forwards) If the duchy paid their fair share it wouldn't be so bad but they don't (don't want to get into that argument) They have already felled all the trees on the valley side of the main road, shame about that.
The whole problem with Truro is it's location and lack of access roads that can carry traffic when it's busy, for a city it's population is very small but getting home from the hospital on Teusday through Truro was a pain so far as the traffic was concerned, in other words it's been expanded but the roads haven't, you can guess where that's going.
