I was giving that "original" motor some thought while I had my evening meal. I suspect it may have been put on by Stedall who more than likely imported the Lorch without a motor. Pre-war, Germany had some quite unusual motors, both in size and in voltages, compared to Britain. Many were DC fed from a very local generating station (one per town or district). What maker and where was it from - the "original motor"? I have a few very ancient electrical catalogues and electrical engineer's handbooks. It might just be in there.
