Thanks Joe; so we now need a second phone to contact Virgin Media who supply our first phone because of a Virgin Media fault preventing Virgin Media from connecting our first phone? I could write to Virgin Media? Perhaps Virgin Media should accept the consequences if we move to another supplier?

Thanks also Lawrence; I don't suggest in the slightest everyone resort to communicating via email but its very strange to me that every other company Bron and I deal with have a very accessible email address in their contact details so why doesn't Virgin Media who are a communications company offer this choice of contact?

On a more positive note I've been browsing the BT website and find we can get connected very easily via email and don't have to pay the £130 standard line installation cost?

Assuming Bron and I go the BT route? If we accept the Telephone/Broadband package which includes modern Wi-Fi connection do we need a TV aerial to access all the usual channels or are these channels available via unlimited Wi-Fi?

A quick update; how come BT are so accessible via email?
