Hi,
Thanks Colin. Couldn't agree more in fact I bet Lawrence could supply the two poles. Can't do away with one man down the hole digging with a shovel whilst six more men in day glo vests stand watching him; it would go against modern working practices?
Excellent suggestion Colin regarding setting up a "tin can switchboard" it would need connecting via BT though because of the land line fault along our street with Virgin Media. I lay awake in bed last night thinking about setting up a production line manufacturing string can phones; the basic model I came up with was to use an Aldi empty carrots tin which I could supply including postage at £5 each. The de-lux version though would be an M&S tin but re-worked adding Connolly leather trim on a french polished burr walnut veneer but these work out rather expensive at £20 inc each?
Many thanks Lawrence for your suggestion; please read no mobile available and land line out of action; now what; surely Virgin Media being a communications company (?) are equipped to receive/send emails? I agree I could quickly find a phone but why should I be put out more; Virgin Media are very much aware that our land line is disconnected at their control box and they can reply to my email regarding my request for them to supply a suitable Wi-Fi router but they insists on winding me up saying phone them? Yes I'm now as silly as Virgin Media but I'm (we) are paying these people not the other way around? The biggest benefit though is that it's generating a lot of interesting communication within this forum so its not all doom and gloom.
Back on later got to go out.
Kind regards, Col.
