You may get the modem / router for free Colin but have a lot of frustration in getting it to work ('Back on the phone again') ... read some of the reviews for the router I bought. Many who bought that were frustrated folks from the Virgin box.
There can be interference problems with putting it too near the Virgin standard cable modem ... mine is several feet away and has no problems.
