All now sorted, having finally sussed out how the FPC is routed through and around two rollers in the front of the stereo, and how a bracket, held in place by 4 tiny screws which I kept dropping!, was fitted (under the FPC, not, as I at first thought, because of the shape of said bracket, over it! An irritating job, to say the least, but if I'm asked to do another of these, I'll know how!!!
