It should work with a 2K pot and an 8k2 resistor.
Set the pot to the position you want to be stop and measure to find the end that is zero resistance to the wiper. Connect this leg of the pot to 10V (VR).
Connect the wiper of the pot to VI.
Connect one end of a 6k8 or 8k2 resistor to the other end of the pot track. Connect the other end of the resistor to ACM.
You could use a preset pot in place of the fixed resistor if you want an exact maximum speed at full rotation of the pot.
The preset pot goes from one end of the track to the wiper with the spare end either connected to the wiper or just insulated. connect it instead of the fixed resistor.
