The main point I am making is that the parts can be obtained even after all those years and that also they have a well known working life. I have never had an element fail on one of mine at home although they do fail id the capacitor goes short on the switch assembly if it fails while the iron has been left on during a lunch break.
The complete unit from China has an unknown working life all be it cheap. It would still be good for occasional use though.
