Are you sure it's 'My Queen Margaret' - not 'My Lady Margaret?'
The only set I can recall with ''Queen' in the title was 'Sky Queen'.
I'm familiar with the appearance of the paint finish but have'nt a clue what it was - obviously something produced for the pupose and ceetainy no longer available. As to value, battery portables from the 50s aren't highly sought after, certainly in the UK due to the difficulty with batteries, though admittedly those who do collect them often make up their own from a string of PP3s for the HT.
These sets and similar ones can often be picked up for £5.00 - £10GBP at most from car boot sales and vintage radio fairs. Ironically - as with many such commonplace sets, probably worth more if stripped down - valves, speaker, OPT etc. Battery sets were often made by battery companies such as Vidor and Ever Ready as a means to market their batteries.
If the set has dud batteries in it, daft as it may sound, such batteries often sell on e-bay for £10 or more - bought by those who wish to make replica batteries, so a dud HT & LT battery would together probably fetch more than the set itself!
