Well here's couple of US woodies of mine:
Exact maker is not known. I bought it years ago at a knock down price as the mains Xformer, rect and other easy to get around parts were missing. I have refinished it twice and I'm happy with it now. First time around it came out too dark using horrible spray can toners. This time it was done with the "artists oil paint method". The dial is beautiful when lit and having a tuned RF stage it performs very well.
And one more:
This refinish done largely with stain before lacquer and obliteration toner for the top came out remarkably accurate to the original colours. No tuned RF stage but it works pretty well and again the lit dial is nice. I was quite pleased with myself on this one as the speaker voice coil was open and disintegrating. So I sliced it off and built a new one from good brown paper and hand rewound it on a mandrel before epoxying it in place. Worked and still is years later and sounds fine.
