I recently restored 2 Roberts R707 radios, both able to take an external power supply. Modern power jacks seem a bit too big in diameter on the plastic shroud and too short in the metal barrel. This morning I took delivery of the perfect jack, sourced from Toby Electronics at 45p + VAT + shipping - two jacks totalled £4.62 inc shipping and VAT. They fit snugly, open the battery contacts correctly, and fit within the metal ring in the cabinet side with room to spare.
