All sounds good Colin.
I've always been dubious about putting one glue on top of another. But a common technique, and I have done it too, is to inject PVA, into lifted veneer on old cabinets. Clamp or weight after and it does seem to work OK. So maybe the same is true of the super glues / hide glue combo.
