I wonder when Popular Music changed over from being 'Active' in the sense that you could sing along with it to the modern situation where it appears to be wholly 'Passive' where you can only listen - I hesitate to say enjoy. I reckon it started in the '70s.

I guess it started with the teen revolution when ever that was, my Mum always blamed the 60's my Gran blamed Glen Miller. I entered my teen years in 1962 I was mainly 60's influenced so far as British artists are concerned, my Dads favourite was Kathy Kirby...I wonder why.
