Musings on how Amateur Radio Lost its Way.

Hello David, all is not lost, amatures build stuff for VHF/UHF and upwards even today, QRP yes, definately territory for hombrew if so required, SDR is another interesting area, antenna/transmission line construction and measurements being another, yes the hobby has changed like everything else, but there is still plenty to mess about with in amature radio, CW is still very much alive and to a lesser extent so is AM, those that just want to squark are free to do so and so are the homebrewers with the relevant licence, for many I suspect that getting that elusive contact is still uppermost and to do that I rekon you need the knowledge, talk old valved comms gear with me and I'm fine, talk about any computer based stuff and I'm lost, I put that down to myself not moving with the times.
I am not a licenced amature, something I wish I had done but one of those things I never got round to.
