Not related to Steves turntable problem but I have used Plus Gas to free jammed screws/pot shafts etc. The last job I did with it was to free up a dial lock mechanism on a Halli. SX28, I had to remove the lever from the main body of the mech., which the lever screws into, the lever was approx 2 to 3 mm diam. and approx 15 mm long one end being threaded (the end stuck in the mech.) the main body was secured in a vice and I snapped some mole grips over the thin shaft, it was clear when I tried to unscrew it that it was at its tortional limit, it took about two days soaking and a bit of gentle heat to break the corrosion seal but it came out ok in the end.
