Well spotted Andy, I must say I did not notice that, I have been looking at the schematic for the R 1082 and I am trying to figure out the Regen det as I am working on a regen at the moment. I notice that the RF is both tuned grid and tuned anode but in all fairness the manual does confess to the possibility of that stage bursting into oscillation, I expect the intention was to bring the RF into part regen as well as the detector to get maximum gain.
