Well I found all the bits for the glass dial - more damaged than I originally suspected. Not sure I can make this look decent. It might be more effective to cut the dial nice and straight and each end and glue a rectangular piece of black glass to each end. At least then it would look tidier and more symmetrical.

What's the best glue out there for gluing glass?
