Came across an interesting site with info on how to chemically apply a wide range of patinas to metal, which might come in handy for various trims on radios when the original plating has worn off. Might be worth a look:

I dare say that on vintage radios, such finishes were originally electro plated, but that's a little beyond the scope of most amateur restorers in terms of cost and equipment. The only time I've wanted to do this was on a bronzed speaker ring on an Ekco A22. I used a bronze metallic aerosol spray, which I was happy with.
