I am hoping to obtain a second hand PW Drive from an old HRO scrapper . . .

There's a 'pw drive' on the Golborne Vintage Radio site if that's of any use!  
No, but seriously, I'd never heard of a 'pw drive' until you joined this forum . . . and it seems that it has some association with the H.R.O. receiver (shows his ignorance  ). Yes, I have owned a few of those receivers in my time, but never met that name . . . so what, exactly, does the 'pw' refer to? (I've deduced that it isn't Practical Wireless!   )

Hello Al, "PW Drive" Precision Worm Drive.....The worm drive that is on the end of the main tuning knob shaft that engages with the two anti back lash gears, the whole assy including the micrometer style read out is very efficient and simple as you probably know.
Although using a different approach the RA1155 tuning drive is also very efficient and simple.
Beats yer drive cord any day...
