not just me then who has a mistrust of lockfit transisistors, not just in audio circuits but in colour decoders and tv if strips,
mainly noise but also varable gain . i used to give them a blast of freezer .but if suspect change it its the only way. no good testing them most will pass.
secondly what was wronge with transformer coupling for small amps ,no mass distruction of transistors

if its made by hand it can be repaired by hand
