Hi ive undressed the set today it was full of crud which i removed with a paint brush
I located two caps at the rear that were acting as mains filters and replaced them with uptodate caps i also replaced the mains lead and gave it the variac in 50v increments at 200v the screen lit up very bright turning down the brightnes made little diffrence . just to see if there was any life in the signal stages i hooked the set up to my band one signal this produced a picture of sorts so i got a video recorder out and connected up to the uhf sockets but could only tune in a snowy type of mess . This then dissapered and i couldnt get any signals through the set on eather uhf or vhf i know have an if problem to sort . i shall now need to get a diagram before procceding so for now i have boxed the set and will resume soon. as i have another horror to restore watch this place. I shall look through some seventies television mags to see if i can find more info. Thanks Danny
