Some time ago I downloaded a whole load of episodes of the famous US radio show 'Dragnet' in MP3 format from the Archive.org site
http://www.archive.org/details/oldtimeradio
However, I can't play these on my MP3 player with adequate volume through the P.U. inputs on my radios. All need pushing up towards full volume before anything can be heard which is due to the mis-match between device and the radio inputs. I've seen a couple of ready-made pre-amp devices for sale on t'internet (and for a nice price) but I wondered if anyone could recommend any home brew type circuits.
Thanks _ Andrew
