Currently overhauling an RCA AR88D: it's going fairly well (now that I've got the gearbox sorted
). Anyway, looking at the PSU, there's one little thing that has me a bit puzzled. The rectifier valve is a 5Y3GT, directly-heated, so the HT comes straight off the filament into a double L/C filter: fair enough, that I understand. However, at the HT+ / filament of that rectifier there are two 560 k-ohm resistors connected in series to chassis / 0v.
Why are they there? What do they do?
