Thanks Andy, no worries, if you are unaware then a collection of railway employment book records have been released on a genealogy site that I subscribe to going back to the mid 1800's if you are into railway research, if you don't have access to these and want any lookups then let me know (PM) I found a few of our lot in there. (Addition) That would be a good idea Andy about listing the more rare bits of kit, until recently I would have said that Marconi Transmitters were fairly thin on the ground until quite a few were listed at auction from a collection not far from me, I believed they all sold along with various other bits of various Marconi DF kit/Receivers etc. I wonder how many will end up on the 80 am net.
I am not an authority on the military stuff at auction (Ebay) but as you say the R1155 turns up on a regular basis, and maybe less so for individual spares, same for the WS No. 19 but my observations seem to record more spares than receivers, complete receivers seem to go for good money, there has been a glut of AR88's of late both for sale and broke up as spares. The HRO turns up on a reasonable basis but rarish for spares excepting coil packs, it's the bandspreads they are after, one went a couple of weeks ago with what appeared to be a full set of coils and PSU it made over the £500 I think, it also included a speaker but I am not sure if the speaker was a National. The Mighty Murphy (B40) and its variants don't seem to come up that often I don't recollect more than 5 maybe 6 since early this year and I bought one of them. B40 spares..not much chance at all (I wish) BC348's turn up time to time, in the main modified, little in the way of spares, maybe the odd dyno of dubious quality and shock mount here and there.
The T1154 Tx not common but do turn up, more spares than units, units seem to hold their money very well. Eddystones in general very regular, prices for the different types seem to follow the supply and demand rule, I wish i had a shed full of Eddometers ! Spares seem mainly to be broken up EC types ? the solid state general purpose ones. individule speaker units and some times meter units do turn up, I think the Eddy User Group is the best place to get an idea. they run a good site.
CR100's quite regular but more like buses, most usually modified, never usually much individual spares, CR300 even less so, probably used more on merchant ships than military (I stand to be corrected)
Collins Oh the beutiful Collins... rare, any one who owns or has owned one will tell you why. there was what appeared to be a nice example 75A ? at auction a few weeks ago £500 ish I was tempted but could not have made the jouney to pick up at that time, if it was closer I would have gone for it even though it's a 390 I would really like. RA17 never owned one of these but would like to, I believe that if they are up to spec they are a real star performer, turn up quite regular at auction and occasionally some spares, a good one will command good money, there was one that appeared to be exceptional at auction a while back this year apparently an ex diplomat job that was in what seemed to be in exceptional condition, it went for over £600 as i remember...I was the second highest bidder ! I hope it turned out to be what it looked like and that it went to a good home.
Hallicrafters turn up from time to time only two SX 28's this year as I am aware, sometimes SX24 or SX25 or S20, generally don't go for a lot from past obsevations, spares pretty rare, have seen two of the UHF versions (can't remember model No.) S27 maybe ? one was in a bit of a state the other looked to be in reasonable shape but can't remember what the latter made.
Hammarlund, rare, not many come up at auction.
Original Manuals for the more common types come up quite frequently although i always seem to get out bid....
