I've developed a certain admiration for wood-worm. I stripped the case today and the old finish was rock hard and I'm surprised they could nibble through it.
It actually proved easier to sand than scrape off. I made some progress with a Stanley knife blade but even that needed frequent sharpening. Eventually I resorted to paint-stripper.
The veneer is a very nice colour and it's making me think about re-doing my Fergy.
Unfortunately, as usual, I was thinking more about what I was doing than taking photographs. Here's one of it stripped and with the first rough filling applied.
