Well said, Steve. Your comments brought back memories of field servicing days, equipped with nothing more than a multimeter and a box full of spares. Many 'tricks' and short-cuts had to be mastered in order to get home at a reasonable hour. Try doing these sorts of repairs on today's TVs!
