I think our findings will have to be looked at with regard to what happened to the equipment since last time it was used... damp is the enemy of waxies.. stored in the dry or used every day and in my experience even ones from the 30's can be completely fine. The minute something goes in the shed/cellar/back room and is left standing idle for years.. change em
