Can't find auto correct to switch off, seems it's a function on gboard, which is greyed out in my settings.
On WhatsApp I just tried sending "Thanks for checking it". Ended up as thanks for Christmas.
It seems only recently these problems started. Android phone, 18 months old with latest updates done automatically.
