RetroTechUK Update
I’m pleased to be able to give you an update about RetroTechUK and the planned exhibits for our celebration of Televisions 100 anniversary.
In the Car Park will be
* Ex-BBC satellite truck. It will be in the car park, receiving signals which will be relayed back to the stand in the large hall.
In the Larger of the two Halls will be
* A broadcast TV camera which visitors can operate
* Mechanical TV. A modern take on a Baird 30-line Televisor
* Sale of fine pre-owned kit to raise funds for the museum
This is provided by The Broadcast Engineering Museum is wholly owned by the Broadcast Engineering Conservation Group, a registered charity: 1189469
In the second hall will be displays of
* Television broadcast history by the team at MCR21, with a working 1950s broadcast camera with its supporting equipment.
* Explanations of the workings of a 1960s Outside Broadcast Truck.
* Examples of Camera Image Tubes from early cameras.
This is provided be the Broadcast Television Technology Trust or BTTT a Registered Charity: 1179333
* Jonathan Hill one the original founders, on the history of the society including films and photos over the years.
* Members television sets from the periods since 1930s along with TV accessories and ephemera that show how television developed from John Logie Baird’s early efforts into what we watch today.
Included will be over 20 Working Televisions from 1938 through to the present day with models from Bush, Cossor, Ekco, Fergusson, Grundig, Hitachi, Murphy, Philips, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony along with VCRs, Freeview boxes and Players including some powered by Raspberry Pi.
*An AV presentation of 100 years of Television.
