6V torch bulbs are really about 4V. The 6.3V panel lamps are closer to 9V torch lamp.
Torch bulbs are designed for high output/efficiency and thus short life. Panel indicators / lamps / bulbs look much more orange as they are for x10 to x50 service life of a torch bulb.
